A missing girl. A reluctant hero stalked through the streets of Chicago. A country on the brink of war.
It’s February 2003 and private detective Glenn Wozniak just wants to ride out the remainder of a cold Chicago winter perched on a bar stool, pairing shots of Irish whiskey with cheap beer. But when a client neglects to pay him for services rendered, Glenn finds himself desperate for work, any work. Enter a wealthy new client offering a lot of money to find his missing daughter.
On the eve of the U.S. war in Iraq, Glenn begins an investigation that will take him from the far northern edge of Chicago to an industrial wasteland at its southern border to some of the most dangerous parts of the city’s west side. Along the way, he’ll encounter anti-war protesters, ex-cons, drug dealers, corrupt cops, and a gang member leading a double life, ultimately unearthing deadly secrets that will make him some dangerous enemies.
This new mystery and suspense release is the first in a series about Chicago Private Investigator Glenn Wozniak. It is recommended to readers who enjoy gritty, fast-paced thrillers in the tradition of Raymond Chandler, Dashiell Hammett, Ross MacDonald and Robert Parker.

Forgotten Boy A Chicago Detective Thriller edition by Todd Luchik Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks
As a former Chicagoan I appreciated the accuracy of Mr. Luchic's description of the neighborhoods. This isn't a book set in over-used locations like Lincoln Park, Wrigley Field or Navy Pier, but rather in ones seldom mentioned. in fiction and NEVER by the Chamber of Commerce. That said, more important to me was the quality of writing and the intricate story line. The writing is perfect: no grammatical or spelling errors and it just flows. The humor sprinkled in is wonderful - gives it a gentle lift from the dark depression that is typically Chicago in winter. The characters are real and not typecast. Our "hero" while honest is definitely not hard-working, preferring to drink rather than put in an eight-hour day. Glenn Wozniak is a little overweight and a lot out of shape. While we do encounter dirty cops, drug dealers and other unsavory types we don't feel this is a rumn-of-the-mill replay. Mr Luchic has managed a well-crafted book with an intricate plot and great writing. I am eagerly awaiting another great read from Mr. Luchic and highly recommend this book.

Forgotten Boy A Chicago Detective Thriller edition by Todd Luchik Mystery Thriller Suspense eBooks Reviews
If you want a thriller that's difficult to put down, this is a book for you. It had my interest from start to finish!
Fast moving plot. Poor Kenny always seemed to get the short end of the stick. This detective continued on despite getting his butt kicked. Stabbed and punched.
Qick moving. Believable. Relevant. I read it in one day because it held my attention. The author is one I will be looking forward to in the future. I was not given anything for this review.
Never read anything by this author before but I was impressed. The story was great. Read it in a few hours. The poor PI, I would have ran the other way at the start. Lol. Give it a go. I will be looking for more from Mr Luchik
1st book by this author for me and I loved it. I usually figure out what's going on rather quickly yet still love the twists and turns of the adventure. This book took me by complete surprise! It was a delight to read. I highly recommend it.
This is the first book that I have read by this author and I enjoyed reading it very much. I loved all the twist and turns. Every time I thought that I had answer, the story would go off in a different direction and I was wrong. I hope that there are continuing stories with this private detective, Glenn!
This book kept my interest from the beginning to the end. The story is multi-layered and takes you from a PI’s missing persons case to unveiling police corruption, family dysfunction and disclosing family secrets. Familiar with Chicago, I especially enjoyed Glenn’s travels throughout the city and his descriptions of each place. If you like a good detective story, this book is for you.
